Welding is a process that involves joining two or more pieces of metal together by melting and fusing them. It is commonly used in various industries, including construction, manufacturing, automotive, and aerospace.

Welding training is essential for individuals interested in pursuing a career or gaining skills in welding. There are various options available to acquire the necessary knowledge and expertise.

It's important to note that hands-on practice is crucial in developing proficiency in welding due to its practical nature. Therefore, even if you opt for online learning or theoretical coursework initially, it's advisable to seek opportunities for supervised practical experience alongside your studies.

Additionally, always ensure that the program or course you choose aligns with industry standards and offers certifications recognized by employers within the field.

There are several different types of welding techniques, each with its own advantages and applications. Some common welding methods include:

  1. Arc Welding: This technique uses an electric arc to generate heat and melt the metal. It can be further classified into subcategories such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW/MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG), Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW), etc.
  2. Gas Welding: Also known as oxy-fuel welding, this method utilizes a combination of fuel gases (such as acetylene) and oxygen to produce a flame that melts the metal for joining.
  3. Resistance Spot Welding: This process involves passing an electric current through two overlapping metal sheets to create heat at the point of contact, resulting in fusion.
  4. Laser Beam Welding: In this technique, a focused laser beam is used to melt and join metals together accurately.

Safety precautions are crucial when it comes to welding due to the high temperatures involved and potential hazards like sparks, UV radiation, toxic fumes/gases released during the process. Protective gear such as helmets with darkened shields or auto-darkening filters, gloves, clothing made from fire-resistant materials are essential for welders’ safety.

For duration of 4 weeks (a month) come gets hands on experience in the welding field and join thousands of professional welders who are vastly required in almost every sector of the economy.

Our curriculum is meticulously designed to cover both the theoretical foundations and practical skills required in the welding industry.

Welding training is available for a duration of 1 month training. This training covers both Theory & Practical sessions.

There are many different job options in welding and fabrication, from entry-level welders to specialist engineers and inspectors. These positions, which entail cutting, shaping, and connecting metals, are essential to many different sectors’ manufacturing, building, and repair processes.

Welding training is available at a cost ranging from R8000 to R12000 depending on the institute you have enrolled in. This training is for 4 weeks.

Valid identification document (ID) for South African citizens or Passport/Asylum/Permit for foreign nationals.

PPE is also needed especially safety boots, and a Work suite.

In South Africa, a welder typically makes R 12,569 a month, or R 192,000 annually. Experienced welders can make up to R 403,200 annually, while entry-level jobs may start at R 150,000. Experience, area of expertise, and specialization can all affect pay; some welders in particular fields, like boilermaking, make much more.
